Location. Our parish is located in the heart of downtown Salem at 42 East Main Street, next to the library. Limited parking is to the rear (off Calhoun Street), with additional spaces on the side street (Market Street) and on Main Street.
Office Hours. Except for major holidays, our office hours are generally 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday-Thursday; 9:00am to 1:00pm on Fridays, though the office is closed on Fridays during summer when our school is out for the summer.
How We Worship
Service Sheet and Prayer Book. As Episcopalians, we use the worship liturgies found in the Book of Common Prayer, and our hymns are generally taken from The Hymnal 1982. Both books are located in the pew racks.
Sunday Services. We offer two services on Sunday mornings. At the 7:30am service we use the more traditional, historical language of early Anglicanism. This is a spoken service without any musical accompaniment. At the 10:00am service we use a service with contemporary language. We have beautiful hymns led by the organist and choir.
Coffee Hour. This is a wonderful time for fellowship in the parish hall that follows the conclusion of the 10:00am service. This is a great opportunity to meet others and visit together. Please do join us!
How We Take Holy Communion
All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion. Children are very welcome at the Communion rail and may receive a blessing from the priest if the child is too young. If you desire to receive a blessing rather than partake of Holy Communion, please do come to the rail and indicate your desire for a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest.
Our Sunday services (7:30 and 10:00am) include Holy Communion. To receive the bread, place one hand over the other and the wafer will be placed into your open palm. The wine is contained in a chalice. The celebrant or a minister will hold the chalice for you to drink from. For health and safety reasons, we do not permit intinction ('dipping' of the wafer into the wine). Communion in one kind is sufficient, so if you do not wish to consume the wine, you may cross your arms over your chest and the server will pass by.
Parking
On Sundays, you find accessible parking places and an accessible entrance on the church side of Market Street. General parking is available behind the church on East Calhoun Street (with the entrance opposite the police station). There is an additional ramp to an accessible entrance off of the parking lot. Inside, a wheelchair lift enables a visitor to avoid the four steps up to the level of the church. We also have a wheelchair available if needed. Please ask an usher for assistance.
